Finished a new handle for an old knife today.

The old handle broke and was never used, 44 years old, made of plastic. This new one is made of Purple Heart wood.

A Kershaw Kia/Japan knife and originally cost about 50-75 dollars, now worth about $250.00

Thought I better put in some new and old items.

This is a carving "rough" that is now painted and in my shop window. I call it the Garage sale guy.
This Emperor Penguin is one of 3, it is about 4.5 inch's high, one other is made of Soapstone the same height and the largest is wood and about 8 inch's high.

The Bears, one is of Black Walnut and the other is of Alabaster stone.

This Cat is a copy of one that had been found in the Florida keys' called a San Marcos cat. It looks Egyptian and was unearthed in the 1800's . Also of Black Walnut.
This wooden block is a copy of a Celtic bird of peace, doesn't look  like it though.
Mahogany Cat in the Moon necklace .
Spoon made from Poplar wood and hand finished with oils. 12" long.

Various sized small animals and birds, some not as big as a finger tip.
The Barn Owl in the back was my first ever hand carving with no pattern.
Pompano fish made from scrap pallet wood.

Whale on Alabaster mount 10 inch's long.

Hand made knives here.

Made from a hacksaw blade .1-1/2 " long

The small knife up is made from a 3/8" wrench
The round is made from a 7/8" box end wrench

This is used for coving out or making spoon bowls

These smaller ones are made from a small screw driver right and the other is made from a large nail.

Well, today we have finished the new shop . And it has been a real challenge for me. After moving to a new home in Eastern Washington St. and winter set in, plus no place to CARVE!!.

I have had a lot of help, both of our sons and their families plus my wonderful wife keeping me going.

I am getting ready to move all my tools and tables in this week end. And as time goes on I will post some progress on the work stations and even new carvings.
