Have a new tool, a Lathe!

 2024 What a deal!

As the year of 23' ended, I got more 🪵🪵.

An extremely busy 2023, and several projects finished in Carving towards the last part of the year I decided to check out Turning wood on a Lathe.

Some of my 23' carvings.













Now for 2024, I started doing wood turning a learning thing!


 

The seat the bird is sitting on  is for a cover in the handrail. The handrail is in a home in Mississippi Mid 1800's Small part is made of African Mahogany.







The real work started after I figured out, Not to sick my finger in the running machinery

Top here is Osage Orange


This is Black Walnut and Poplar wood .

Made from a regular 2x4 Fir wood.
Top two are made from Black Walnut.
Three pieces , Maple Wood.



Up is Sycamore .

Up is from a wood given to me??
How about a Honey Dipper?
Up is from Cedar/Juniper.

Up is from 2 pieces treated Fir.

Juniper up.
Osage Orange  up.
Two pieces Black Walnut.



Up 4 spots Fir and 2x4 wood.

My real first bowl turning. 4 pieces of 2x2 Fir.

 2022 Already and Half way through

Have been busy for the past 6 months and catching up on some new items to show off. Plus I have given away a few things that were taking up space.
